Christmas in Chile
The people of Chile, finish their school year on December 22. Everybody in Chile enjoys celebrating
the Christmas holiday. They spend this holy day with family. First they decorate a tree, evergreen or
artificial, with lights, tinsels, beautiful decorations, candies and etc. On Christmas Eve, Catholic
people go to hear Midnight Mass. Later on the family enjoys the Christmas Dinner together. It may be
turkey, chicken, meat, salad, rice, and many other different things. It depends on what the family likes
to eat. People also drink "Rompon". It is a liquor with milk, eggs and alcohol. There is another drink
called "Cola de Mono". It is made with milk, eggs, coffee, and alcohol. The family also eats Christmas
pudding made with dried fruit. At midnight, the family sits around the Christmas tree to open the
presents. On December 25, people usually go to the beach, the park or any other interesting place.
