A Message From the Principal
Greetings, and welcome to the Central Valley Christian Middle School.
The staff at CVC is a qualified group of professionals who take seriously the craft of Christian teaching. They are dedicated to working with middle school students and all the challenges it involves. All teachers are credentialed and have earned degrees in education.
The middle school at CVC is comprised of grades 7 and 8. There are three sections for each grade and class sizes generally range from 20 – 25. Our curriculum consists of the usual core courses (English, Science, Mathematics, Social Studies, Bible) as well as other enrichment and exploratory classes (Band, Choir, Art, Media, Computers, Physical Education). In addition to a very strong academic program, CVC MS also offers students a wide range of athletic opportunities (flag football, volleyball, soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, track). Middle school life also includes regular chapel meetings and volunteering at the local Visalia Rescue Mission.
CVCMS recognizes that the middle school student is in the process of changing from an elementary school child to becoming a young adult who will soon enter high school. The challenging task of the middle school is to understand and address the unique characteristics of early adolescents and develop strategies that serve their needs. Our intent is to help the student move away from dependence on the teacher to greater independence and to take responsibility for themselves and ownership of their actions and education.
The CVCMS community is committed to honoring Christ in all ways as we learn and work together. We gladly welcome those who would share this with us.
In His Service,
Douglas D. Vander Schaaf
