Something Beautiful to Watch

by Sadie Elsenbroek, Class of 2018

Editor’s Note: We put out a number of questions to a variety of CVC High School students. One of those questions was: Would you like to live to be 100? Why or why not? Below is Sadie’s response.

I don’t remember who said this quote or when they said it, but ever since I heard it, it has stuck with me.  They said, “Give others something beautiful to watch as you live out your heart.”  I love this because it reminds me that people are watching me live my life, and if I continue to do everything I love and live out my heart, then they will be able to watch something beautiful happen. When you see someone do something they love, it automatically makes the thing they’re doing more intriguing and captivating. When someone pours out their heart in everything they do, the result is something so beautiful, raw, and real.

In my life, I’m not sure exactly what I want to do in my future, but I am just going to continue pursuing everything that I love, and I pray that God will open and close all of the right doors. By pursuing everything that I love, I am living out my heart.  By living out my heart, I hope that it’s giving everyone something beautiful to watch.

I will always do what I love. The three things I love most in this world are God, people, and music.  I will always pursue after these things because they make my heart the happiest. I love having a deep relationship with God and living my life to glorify Him in response to His priceless gift of salvation.  I love relationships and I just love how different God created every single human, and that we all have talent and love to share and use together to create something amazing. I love music because it has the power to move your soul and make you feel emotions that can’t be felt any other way. By continuing to pursue these things that I love, I pray that my passion, love, intention, and hard work will show the love of Christ to everyone with whom I come into contact.

I would love to live to be 100 years old, because then I would be able to experience as much of this beautiful life and share the love of Christ to so many more people. I am an avid lover of life, and I would love to experience as much of it as possible. For 100 years, I would continue to do everything I love, which would give others something beautiful to watch.
