Agricultural Education at CVC
Agricultural education prepares students for successful careers and a lifetime of informed choices in the global agriculture, food, fiber and natural resources systems. Through agricultural education, students are provided opportunities for leadership development, personal growth and career success. Agricultural education instruction is delivered through three major components:
- Classroom/Laboratory instruction (contextual learning)
- Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) programs (work-based learning)
- FFA: Student leadership organizations (National FFA Organization, National Young Farmer Educational Association and National Post-secondary Agricultural Student Organization)
FFA Program at CVC
FFA is the leadership side of our agriculture program. To build leadership skills, students at CVC have the opportunity to run for Officer Positions, take part in committees, and attend leadership conferences throughout the year.
We have a variety of Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE) opportunities for students ranging from livestock shown at the fair to mechanics projects. It is completely up to the students to choose their project, as long as it is related to agriculture. There are awards and scholarships available for students to apply for through FFA with their SAE projects.
